Predictors of Non-Adherence to Medications in Hypertensive Patients

Background: Elevated blood pressure (BP) is one of the leading causes for developing major cardiovascular events and still represents a public health challenge worldwide. We aimed to provide data on predictors poor adherence medication in hypertensive patients Serbia.
 Methods: Observational, analytical study was undertaken at group 388 who refilled their medications Pharmacy Institution, “Apoteka Kragujevac”, Kragujevac, Serbia between Jan Mar 2019. Afterward, we conducted case-control evaluate influence variables associated with adherence. used self-developed questionnaire SF-36 assess quality life adherence.
 Results: Results revealed four independent non-adherence: increased number medications, living city, forgetfulness dosing regimen low energy. The odds non-adherence were highest among participants city energy only factor inversely level non-adherence.
 Conclusion: Many factors medication. Further studies are needed find most appropriate protocol promote risk (increased energy) adult patients.
